HUD has certified the City of Canton as a Fair Housing Assistance Program meaning that Canton's Fair Housing Laws are substantially equivalent to Federal Law.

Canton is a "substantially comparable" jurisdiction which means that the local community is eligible for direct FH funds from the Federal government. In 2012, Canton added protections for LGBT households to it's local Fair Housing Laws.
